Excited!!

I will be visiting my local barber over the Easter weekend. Knowing that in a few days I will be spending an hour at the hands of my Barber is to me like a child at Christmas. The anticipation is over whelming!! I generally give him a visit on a 3 week interval. And always get the same sensation upon my upcoming visit.

Knowing that soon I will feel the buzz of his clips as he tapers the back of my head. The aroma of his squirt bottle which he has filled with a light oil and water mixer that he uses to dampen my hair before cutting the top. The feel of his larger hands as he puts my head into the different angles he needs. The snuginess of which he has the cape around my neck. OH, and the shave! The feeling of those hot towels followed by the hot lather damn near makes me climax — which I have, unknown to him. Lying there almost feeling helpless as the razor scrapes away my shadow. The feel of my smooth face as he applies the after shave.

NOW comes the best part of all! Time for the Brlycreem. It usually starts with his mist bottle followed by a palm size amount of that fabulous white mixture. Those big hands massaging it in as though he was trying to break my neck. He will sometimes add a little hair oil to add a bit more shine for effect, he says.

Now the grand finale. Out comes that long fine toothed comb he uses like a knife as he cuts a perfect part a little of center on the right side of my head. Combing each hair into perfect placement. He will then apply his final touch by flipping my parted hair into a small pomp. Sometimes having to add some Vaseline to keep the shorter hairs in place. Spins me around for a look at another one his master pieces. A quick dusting of talc powder, and I'm off, ever so proud of my haircut.
