Imagine Tom
by Finbar
There is a custom motorcycle leather shop on the West Coast. A young guy, whose grandfather started the business back in the 40's, started working there right out of high school. Although his grand dad is gone now, the young guy, whom I'll call Tom, still worships his memory.
Tom has the same tattoos (including one of a skull head wearing a soft leather helmet and goggles) his grandfather did, and he belongs to the same local motorcycle club started back in the 40's.
Tom is in his early 30's now and he wears his beautiful blond hair slicked back and well greased. He always wears Levis 501's with a real wide cuff (just like they did during his grand dad's era) over his thick soled engineers boots. Of course he has several sets of custom leathers from the shop where his job is to cut leather from patterns and take customer measurements.
He always wears a really thick belt in his jeans with a brass buckle and black T-shirts with the shop logo front and back. He drives an old Ford pickup and has a couple of old Harleys friends have restored for him.
When his grandfather died, he escorted the hearse on his Harley in full leather. At the cemetery I remember seeing him place a single red rose on the casket, wearing a beautiful pair of tight black goatskin gloves with the cuffs rolled back, before it was lowered.
