Royal Crown Hair Dressing
5 oz (142g)
Pomade
$2.00

DESCRIPTION: - Royal Crown Hair Dressing is a medium-weight pomade offering strong hold with moderate shine. Works best on medium to longer length hair. For shorter styles i.e. crew-cuts or flat-tops, use something heavier like Murrays. The strong scent is very pleasing and reminiscent of your favorite 50's barber shop. Note that the scent is very strong in the can, but evens out nicely on the hair. Royal Crown goes on best if you leave your hair slightly damp. This will increase the shine as well. If hair is too damp, the pomade will "ball-up" on your comb, as the cold water "sets" the pomade too fast. Use a wider tooth (coarse) comb. A fine comb tends to scrape the pomade off too much.

REVIEWS:
As a former marine and Sandahls Control Wax user with a high-and-tight-flat-top for 10 years, it was quite a switch to decide to grow my hair out. I'm now sporting a DA "supported" by Royal Crown Hair Dressing. Gives a GREAT look and smell, with hold that lasts all day. I run a retro hot rod fabrication shop, and I definitely look the part now thanks to Royal Crown. Also, given this kind of work, my hair takes a beating throughout the day given all the grinding and cutting going on. I found that Royal Crown holds well enough that I can throw a bandana on when I need to. A few swipes with a comb once the bandana is off and I'm looking like new again. Go ahead -- be a greaser!!

I've been using different pomades and greases for a good while and Royal Crown is one of the best. It has very good hold, even if your hair can be curly and unruly as mine is. Royal Crown is sold in cans of 3 oz. and 7 oz. just like the hair dressing. The scent is very reminiscent of the old corner barber shop, almost like a baby powder scent. It is a little harder to come by than the hairdressing, so if you can't find it anywhere in your general area, there are a couple websites that you can order Royal Crown pomade from. I am used to using Murray's original pomade to keep a sturdy pomp, but Royal Crown does the job as well without causing me to lose many a follicle. Royal Crown averages about $2.50 a can which is cheaper than that expensive American Crew, and you get more. Remember, only squares have dry hair. -Kevin from Milwaukee, WIin from Milwaukee, WI
