The Young Savages (60s)
Burt Lancaster - A young Latino actor plays a ruffian whose real long on the top, jet-black, super-straight hair is always greased to the hilt; the most intense scene is where he meticulously combs it back into its usual brilliant lustrous pompadour: In a scene near the end that same hair hangs down about twelve inches over his face!
REVIEW: The best scenes ... is the scene where the young Latino chats with the detective in a bar, with lots of great shots of his slick hair from many angles. [In the comb scene mentioned above] we get to see him comb his luscious greasy hair, stroke after smooth greasy stroke as he looks at himself in the mirror. We get to see it from front and back at the same time. There are a few fleeting scenes in the courtroom of his slick locks. It was worth the $35! Happy greasing! -LM
