Jim, our web developer appears here as "Greased Combover" with his high shine extreme combover. While many balding men comb their hair over the top to hide the dome, Jim uses what little hair he has to its best advantage to enjoy the slicking experience.
Lay heavy on the Royal Crown!
Jim started by applying some Murray's Pomade to provide tight hold. After combing in the general direction, he laid on a very generous amount of Royal Crown which gave it the oily shine you see here and to top it off he even added plenty of 3in1 oil!
In these next shots, Jim added jell which made it very goopy!
More from this session...
A slicking session with wax, light 40wt AGS pomade, and a big "ole dab'll do ya!"
This is a sequence that is best viewed in order. Click on the first thumbnail and then step through the images in order by pressing the right arrow on your keyboard.
Now to add a big handfull of Sandahl's Control Wax. It the stuff used to shape flat-tops. (Caution: Hair must be combed first into desired direction and then wax applied. Trying to comb it much differently after application can result in tangeling and is harder to comb.)
Smooth on a THICK layer!
Now lets go for some more!
Now for something different -- Up and over in the back!
Now that is really well plastered into place, but it lacks shine!
Jim smooths on a big dollop of 40wt American Greaser Supply pomade.
Now for a big "ole dab'll do ya!" for an extra oily shine.
The first photo session
He started with some Murray's Superior Hair Pomade and then several scoops of the greasy Dax pomade which gives it its high sheen.
Pressing down and smoothing not only gives the hair a patten leather gloss, but feels extremely sensuous as his hand slides across the greased hair..
There is no part and the hair goes clear across. The hair is plastered down in long strands from one ear to the other and even across the back.
How long is his hair when not slicked over the top?
This is a question posed by some of our visitors. Click on the thumbnail photo below.

Hi Jim,
I love the pictures of your combover. I love the way it shines and how the hair goes from ear to ear. I bet it's really long on the one side and that is a big turn on for me wondering about that. Other than looking really sharp, I bet the heavy grease is practical too in that your hair probably wouldn't move in the heaviest of winds. I've always been intrigued by combovers and someday soon will be wearing mine like yours too. Right now I still have enough hair to comb in a more conventional way even though it's heavily greased, but I dream of the day when I start letting the left side grow and grow till I can do a proper comb over. Good luck with it and thanks for the great site. --An un-named fan
